Influences

For inspiration, I watched some thriller films and re-watched ones I had already seen. This was very helpful as it gave me lots of various ideas of my own; my main influences came from 'Sleeping with the enemy' and 'limitless'. But before this, I was very keen on influences for a detective thriller which I got from Se7en but after attempting this I was able to identify its lack of achievability and decided to follow other influences. Said influences had aspects I liked and thought could be replicated in my own way to create an effective title sequence and opening.

Limitless

This film influenced my title sequence; the black screen with titles and a voice over I found to be quite effective as there were no visuals to draw attention away from the from the directed narrative the voiceover was providing.

Sleeping with the enemy

This thriller film influenced the creation of my male protagonist; an obsessive and abusive husband. I created my character in a similar way so that he appears normal but secretly behind the scenes he can be very dangerous and violent, thus keeping within the conventions of a thriller by building suspense and tension.
